Quality Control - Catcher/Folder | First Shift | Covington, KY

Are you detail-oriented and passionate about ensuring high-quality standards? We are seeking several dedicated individuals to join our quality control team as a Catcher/Folder. Your role is vital to our operation, as you will be the last person to see our apparel before it reaches our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Visually inspect each shirt for flaws in printing and apparel material.
  • Notify the press operator and production manager of any issues such as scorching, color distortion, or crooked prints.
  • Ensure the dryer belt is defect-free and notify the production manager of any issues.
  • Lay apparel flat on designated carts, ensuring hems are straight and not rolled up.
  • Load up to 100 garments per cart, fold the top piece to display the design, and stage carts by size.
  • Catch shirts at a rate of 1050 pieces per hour and maintain appropriate direction for the next printing or folding step.
  • Set aside misprinted apparel and notify the production manager immediately.
  • Follow instructions for size and cart changes to keep apparel sorted properly.
  • Manually fold shirts using the proper technique at a rate of 400 pieces per hour.
  • Operate both ends of the automatic folder efficiently, loading up to 800 pieces per hour.
  • Inspect the folder for proper settings, belt alignment, and drape table operation.
  • Ensure collars are centered on the drape table when loading shirts.
  • Make proper adjustments for garment type and size to ensure uniform folds.
  • Verify order counts with the shipping clerk before boxing.
  • Notify the shipping clerk and production manager of any quantity discrepancies.
  • Box orders starting with the largest sizes, selecting appropriate box/envelope sizes.
  • Stack apparel in boxes in an orderly fashion, ensuring they are not overstuffed.
  • Maintain a stock level of pre-made boxes and monitor supply levels.
  • Label boxes with approved layouts and include customer/job names.
  • Weigh boxes for shipping and write the weight and box size on the work order.
  • Place boxes for customer pickup in the proper area, ensuring similar job boxes are kept together.
  • For truck freight, load boxes onto a pallet, wrap them securely, and label all sides of the skid.
  • Manage sample prints at the dryer output, cutting into rags if needed, and ensuring bins are appropriately used.
  • Keep the work area free of debris and trip hazards, sweeping under the dryer and around the work area before and after each shift.
  • Inspect table tops and carts for cleanliness and keep the top of the dryer lint-free.

Schedule:

Mon-Tue, Thurs-Fri, 6:30am-4:30pm (4x 10 hour shifts)

Pay:

$13-14/hr paid weekly
