Safety Coordinator - Direct Hire | First Shift | Bond Hill, OH
The Safety Coordinator will create, implement, coordinate, and continuously improve our safety programs. Provides consultation and direction to ensure programs and services are implemented with the highest safety standards. Creates, updates, and delivers company safety training and content. As well as working in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods or otherwise to balance the workload. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Safety Standards Maintenance: Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment in accordance with OSHA regulations and company guidelines.
- Training and Education: Conduct safety training sessions for all employees, ensuring they are aware of safety practices, emergency procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- PPE Program: Continuously identifies PPE needs, assesses effectiveness. Orders PPE and manages the PPE vending program.
- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations of safety incidents and near misses, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Safety Audits and Inspections: Perform regular safety audits and inspections of the manufacturing facility to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training sessions, and inspections. Prepare and submit reports as required.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production personnel, the Plant Manager, and leadership to promote a proactive safety culture and address safety concerns promptly.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed of relevant safety regulations and industry best practices, ensuring the plant is compliant with all local, state, and federal safety requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Assist in developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives related to workplace safety, including safety performance metrics and goals.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field
- 2+ years experience in a safety role within a manufacturing environment
- Experience working in a team and being collaborative
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- OSHA certification preferred but not required
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs at times
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm
Pay:
$28.85/hr
